AUDIOLOGY & HEARING AIDS

An audiologist or specialized technician is a trained professional that assists the physician to evaluate the nature and degree of hearing loss. The testing can then be used to help the physician, speech therapist, and classroom teacher toward the rehabilitation of the hearing impaired patient and for fitting hearing aids.

Audiologic testing (hearing testing) is available in the office.

We offer computerized testing in English, Spainish, Russian, Vietnamese, Mandarin, Cantonese, Korean, Portuguese, Italian and Arabic.
For this testing, the patient must be able to follow simple instructions and have no severe visual impairment.

    Types of Testing

How Loud is too Loud? Take a look at how much sound exposure is safe.

We have Custom ear plugs and molds for hearing protection or water protection.

The hearing protection plugs are designed to reduce the noise level.

Musicians plugs are designed to reduce the sound level without distortion, allowing the musician to hear the music appropriately.

Special water protection headbands or ear plugs can also be purchased in the office. These are used by children or adults needing to keep water out of the ears. This is often the case for recurring swimmer’s ear, children with ear tubes or perforated ear drums.

Hearing aids have advanced significantly in the last few years. Many new models and improvements in the electronic circuits have been made. Although I do not dispense hearing aids, I can evaluate the hearing and discuss appropriate amplification for your needs.
